Wellcome message

Maria Luisa Lazo de la Vega Monroy, Ph. D
President of the Latin American DOHaD Regional Society
It is a great honor and pleasure to welcome you all to the VI Meeting of the Latin American DOHaD (Developmental Origins of Health and Disease) Regional Society, held in this edition in conjunction with the XXVI International Meeting of Medical Sciences of the University of Guanajuato.
The joint organization of these two prestigious scientific events with long scientific and academic history provides a unique platform to strengthen international collaboration and academic exchange among researchers, healthcare professionals, students, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and members of the broader community, committed to advancing knowledge and improving population health.
During this event, we will engage in keynote lectures, specialized symposia, scientific presentations, workshops, mentoring sessions, and networking opportunities that address some of the most important challenges in health and biomedical sciences worldwide. While the DOHaD perspective highlights the critical importance of the earliest stages of life in shaping lifelong health outcomes and preventing chronic diseases, the XXVI International Meeting of Medical Sciences will showcase cutting-edge research across a broad range of disciplines, connecting DOHaD with health sciences across the whole life cycle.
During poster presentations and activities coordinated by trainees/ECRs, emerging scientists can contribute, lead discussions, share their research, and amplify their voices within the international scientific community.
This VI LA-DOHaD meeting also includes science outreach activities designed for adolescents, fostering dialogue between the scientific community and the society, as well as promoting scientific literacy and inspire future generations.
We heartfully thank all participants, speakers, sponsors, collaborators, and committee members whose dedication will make this event possible. We are confident that the scientific discussions, exchange of ideas, and new partnerships forged during this event will contribute significantly to advancing research, innovation, education, and evidence-based strategies that improve health across generations.
We warmly welcome you to Mexico. León city and the University of Guanajuato are your home.
